AS Roma heeft maandagavond de eerste wedstrijd onder leiding van Claudio Ranieri met 2-1 gewonnen van Empoli. Justin Kluivert begon toch wel verrassend in de basisformatie en werd een minuut of tien voor tijd afgelost door landgenoot Rick Karsdorp. Waar de oud-Ajacied dit seizoen meermaals werd bekritiseerd, daar kan hij nu juist rekenen op lof.

Kluivert reminds me of a very, very raw Salah. The confidence is there, the pace is there, but he needs to work a lot on his technique and he needs to learn to play smart. There’s more ways to go through the opponent than just head on.
